He graduated from Clarkson with a B.S., Chemistry, in 1983, and an M.S., Chemistry, in 1985. Kirk graduated from Purdue University with a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, in 1991, and then was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Eli Lilly & Co. in medicinal chemistry until 1992. Since then, Kirk has worked for Dow AgroSciences (DAS) Research and Development.
